Sean Callanan combines his talents as a world class recurve competitor and title holder, educator, and engineer to promote the sport of traditional bowhunting and 3D archery.

Sean has a tradition of achieving champion status on the state, regional, and international stage. A proven pressure performer, Sean is the 2009 International Bowhunters Organizations (I.B.O.) Traditional World Champion, Hunter Heavyweight Division, drawing his 62-pound recurve. In addition, Sean secured the I.B.O. Hunters Challenge Traditional Championship title after earning bonus points to score a total of 204 points out of a possible 200. Although first and foremost a bowhunter, Sean has earned many competitive archery titles, including the following:

  • • 2010 I.B.O. Northeast Outdoor 3D Champion (Traditional)
  • • 2010 I.B.O. Northeast Indoor 3D Champion (Traditional)
  • • 2009 I.B.O. Northeast Outdoor 3D Champion (Traditional)

  • • 2008 and 2009 Granite State Triple Crown Champion (Traditional)
  • • 2008 and 2009 Massachusetts Bay State Archers Champion (Traditional)
  • • 2008 United Bowhunters of Rhode Island State Shoot Champion (Traditional)


Product Development
Outdoor industry leaders turn to Sean for his expert feedback and input into product development. Sean is a member of Bass Pro Shops’ Team RedHead® and Bohning Archery’s Supremacy of Flight pro shooting team.

Educator, Product Spokesman
With nearly 20 years experience as an educator and athletic coach, Sean is an effective educator and spokesman. He is a frequent speaker on the topics of archery accuracy and equipment selection, set up and maintenance. Sean is a high school educator in the areas of computer aided design, prototyping, pre-engineering, and manufacturing. He is currently the department chair of a large technical high school in Massachusetts.

He serves as a voice of the bowhunter community as a member of the I.B.O. Traditional World Advisory Board and as an I.B.O. New England representative.
