The Recurve Revolution—Blazing Trails

Welcome to the revolution. For the last few decades traditional archery has been perceived as a sport of middle-aged men wearing flannel shirts and felt hats shooting at stumps in the woods. Recently traditional archery has been making progress with younger people and women archers throughout the world. While there is and always will be room for us middle aged flannel shirt wearing old timers, there is also plenty of room for a new generation and we are starting to see big name companies recognizing this.

Rage Expandable Broadheads, for example, has introduced an expandable broadhead specifically designed for bows with 40 ft lbs. of KE or less that can be used out of traditional bows. Rage is not alone. Red Head, Winners Choice Bowstrings, Lumenock, Gold Tip, Field Logic (the makers of Block Targets), Cedar Ridge Leatherworks, to name a few, all of whom have pledged to support the Recurve Revolution and produce, develop and offer products specifically tailored for our great sport.

The revolution is creating, or rather repairing the bridge between compound archery and traditional archery. It is about inclusion and accepting into our fold as many as possible. You are invited to join the revolution no matter what type of recurve or longbow you shoot, whether you are a bowhunter or a target shooter, whether you are a part time arrow flinger or a serious competitor, you are welcome.

Now is the time to come together and support the companies that are supporting us. This new website is a great place to show our support for each other and the businesses that provide us with the equipment we need. I am very excited to try the Rage expandable broadheads next season and look forward to new and innovative products from all of these great companies supporting us.

It is my desire that this revolution will bring about a resurgence of traditional archery and perhaps bring us back to the days when traditional archery competitions and leagues were as common as the corner market.

Working together and with the companies that support us we can show the world what a great group of people traditional archers are and just how much fun it is to shoot a recurve or longbow.
